Aural Rehab, also known as auditory rehabilitation, is a series of treatments and options to help identify and reduce causes or complications related to hearing loss. Steps involved might include personal counseling, coaching and other trainings with a trained audiologist or hearing expert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In most cases, aural rehab programs can be set up through one-on-one sessions or in a small group setting, based on the person\u2019s preferences. Topics covered often include sensory management, instructions on how to better use hearing aid technology and training to help improve speech over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Increase your confidence with communication. Our partners at Phonak have created a free online aural rehabilitation course, called SoundSuccess, that will lead you through exercises to help train you to hear better using your hearing technology. Challenge your listening skills by listening to different speakers using lip reading or listening alone and choosing the listening environment that is right for you. The goal of the first part of the resource (‘Getting Started’) is to help you to get started with adapting to your hearing technology. Once you’ve mastered this level, move on to the next section (‘Up and Running’) which is more challenging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
