If you purchased hearing aids through another clinic or provider and wish to transfer your care to our office, we are happy to welcome new patients.
Our clinic works with the following hearing aid manufacturers: Oticon, Phonak, Widex, Starkey, Signia and ReSound.
What Does Transferring Care Entail?
The transfer of care begins with an Establish Care Appointment. This one-hour appointment includes:
- A meeting with an audiologist to discuss your hearing health history and your hearing goals
- Hearing aid measurements taken with a Verifit machine
- A thorough check and cleaning of your hearing aids
- Necessary adjustments to fine-tune your hearing aids for optimal performance
- Logging your hearing aid info in our EMR system and calling the manufacturer to find out your warranty information
Is There a Fee?
Yes, there is a fee for the Establish Care Appointment. For more details, please contact our Patient Care Concierge, 805-967-4200.
Does Insurance Cover This Transfer of Care?
Unfortunately, most insurance plans do not cover office visits for hearing aid appointments, including the transfer of care.
Can I Skip the Establish Care Appointment?
While you’re always welcome to visit our office for minor hearing aid repairs and cleanings, skipping the Establishing Care Appointment limits the time and resources we can allocate for you. For the best care and service, we recommend scheduling the Establish Care Appointment, as it allows us to thoroughly assess your hearing needs and provide the most personalized care.
